The Study of 1 John

Staying in the Light

Introduction:
1 John was written by the Apostle, John, to remind Christians about where they stand in Christ because there were false prophets who were trying to weaken the church by blurring the line of separation between darkness and light; sin and righteousness; and between love and hate.

John’s goal in this letter is to strengthen the church by strengthening this line of separation against the efforts of Satan to blur it. Which side of the line are you on?

Not in Christ  /  In Christ
(Standing In darkness) /  (Standing In light)
Hate    /    Love
Hell   /   Heaven
Lie  /  Truth
Lost  / Saved
Slave  /   Free
