Study: Jesus First and Last

Most people on earth think Jesus Christ was just another prophet among many, but Jesus was and is more than a prophet. Jesus was and is God.

Read the following scripture verses:

Jesus - The Alpha and the Omega, the Almighty
Read Revelation 1:8.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the *Almighty."

* Note: Jesus is called the Almighty in Isaiah 8: 13-15. Also read 1 Peter 2: 4-8
with it as more evidence of Who is being spoken about. (Click on the verses to read them)

Jesus - The First and the Last
Read Revelation 1: 17-18.

Jesus said,

"Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One. I was dead, and behold, I am alive for ever and ever. And, I hold the keys of death and Hades."

Jesus - The Beginning and the End
Read Revelation 22:13.

Jesus said,

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

Jesus - The Supreme One Over All, God in Visible Form

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:15-20.

Jesus - The Radiance of God's Glory
Read Hebrews 1: 3-4.

"The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs."

Jesus - The Judge In the End:

"For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him." John 5:21-23

Read the following verses about Jesus, the Judge:
Matthew 25:31-46 , Acts 17: 30-31, Revelation 20: 11-14, and Revelation 22: 11-12.
