Study: Jesus, The Stone Rejected or Precious?

Jesus holds the most important position in God’s plan of salvation.  He is the cornerstone or capstone of the foundation of the church.

Read in the Old Testament Isaiah 8:13-15 and Isaiah 28:16, which foretells this Cornerstone, Jesus Christ.

Read 1 Peter 2:6. What two words describe how God feels about the Stone?

Read 1 Peter 2:7. What word describes how those who trust in the Stone view Him as?

Read 1 Peter 2:8. To those who reject Jesus, He is a stone that causes men to ___________________ and a rock that makes them ___________.

Read Luke 20:18 and Matthew 21:44 and Isaiah 8:13-15. Israel rejected Jesus Christ, and when one rejects Jesus Christ (the Rock, Stone, the Capstone, the Cornerstone), the consequences from all directions is not good.

What happens when Jesus becomes a stumbling Stone underfoot to someone (Luke 20:18)?

What will happen to those on which the Stone falls?

What is your relationship like with to the Stone? He is rejected by you or is He precious to you?
